Stop blaming Bawumia for everything and give him a chance – Former Tourism Minister

Former Tourism Minister, Catherine Ablema Afeku has called on Ghanaians to rally round New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to lead the country as President as he is the country’s best bet

Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro Television, Catherine Ablema Afeku who is also the Parliamentary candidate for Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira says the National Democratic Congress should desist from heaping blames at the doorstep of the Vice President and tout his achievements

“Go to the constitution, article 61, the vice-presidential role is constitutionally mandated, you are given a task constitutionally or as the president deems fit, you’re not in charge, you’re not at the helm of affairs, you’re an assistant, a driver’s mate, it doesn’t mean you don’t share your thoughts, you’re not the ultimate or final decision maker, but all of a sudden NDC has gone for a meeting and are lumping blames on Bawumia”

Catherine Abelema Afeku also posited that even under trying circumstances Bawumia has shown himself not corrupt and indeed has been effective in delivering some crucial transformations.

She also believes Dr Bawumia turned the economy around as the Head of the Economic Management Team and has been the best Vice President the country has ever had

“They (NDC) know he is fresh, he has ideas and he has never been a president before, and when given a chance, he will lay out and continue the successes of the NPP government. We have a lot to celebrate, we just need to stop the cynicism.”
