Tamale Mayor joins Tamale Central race, vows to unseat Mutala Muhammed if elected

The Mayor of Tamale, Sule Salifu, has filed his nomination forms to contest in the upcoming orphan constituency primaries of NPP in the Tamale Central Constituency of the Northern Region, promising to unseat Murtala Muhammed, the incumbent Member of Parliament on the ticket of the NDC.

Three people have filed their nomination forms to contest in the upcoming New Patriotic Party parliamentary primaries to represent the NPP in the Tamale Central Constituency come 2024. Amongst them is the Tamale Mayor, Sule Salifu.

Speaking to journalists after filing his nomination forms, the Tamale Mayor insinuated that the Tamale Central seat can be won by the NPP, if the right effort and candidate are put in place before the 2024 election, to push the agenda of the ruling party in the constituency.

He promised to unseat the current MP, Alhaji Murtala Muhammed if he is elected the parliamentary candidate to represent the NPP in the polls.

Sule Salifu further urged supporters of the aspiring candidates to run a campaign devoid of denigrating each other to avoid making the NPP campaign in the constituency tedious post the parliamentary primaries.

He concluded that he has occupied several positions in the party which gives him vast experience in terms of politics, especially within the Northern Territory and he is the best candidate to head the party to the forthcoming general elections.
