Vice President Bawumia Touts Government Achievements in Sunyani Visit

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia visited Sunyani on Tuesday to meet with local Traders Associations and Magazine Leaders, highlighting the government’s progress on its commitment to digital transformation and infrastructure development.

In a spirited address, Dr. Bawumia stated that the administration has fulfilled nearly all the pledges made, with a focus on digitalization to streamline services and improve the lives of Ghanaians.
Key achievements include the widespread issuance of the Ghanacard, enabling it as a valid travel document, and integrating it as a universal identifier for tax, social security, and health insurance services.

The Vice President also pointed out significant strides in digital infrastructure, such as the Ghanapost Digital Property Address System, Mobile Money Interoperability, and the innovative Ghana.Gov Platform, which simplifies interactions with government services.

Further accomplishments include the introduction of E-Pharmacy, deployment of Zipline medical drones, digitization of tax filing, and the pioneering Gold for Oil Policy. The government has also made headway in healthcare by including Hydroxyurea under the National Health Insurance Scheme for Sickle Cell patients and digitizing medical records.

Dr. Bawumia emphasized the government’s commitment to education and youth empowerment, citing the ‘One Student One Tablet’ initiative and the construction of hostels and training facilities for Kayayei.

The visit underscores the government’s dedication to fulfilling its promises and driving Ghana towards a more digitized and efficient future.
