WAEC releases 2023 BECE provisional results

The provisional results for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) this year, which was administered to school and private candidates, have been released by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

The results for school candidates, according to WAEC, will be sent to the appropriate schools by way of the district, municipal, and/or metropolitan directors of education. On the other hand, private candidates can view their results on www.waecgh.org, the Council’s official website.

The Head of Public Affairs of WAEC, John Kapi, signed a statement dated November 9, 2023, which said, “School candidates who wish to do so may also check their results online on the Council’s website.”

However, WAEC has notified the public that 22,270 applicants’ exam scripts in some disciplines are presently being examined because of extensive cheating reports. The results of the investigations could be publicized or rejected, depending on how they turn out.

All parties involved have been advised by WAEC to exercise caution when dealing with those who offer to enhance results in exchange for money. “Candidates are advised to keep in mind that WAEC results are secure and can be authenticated,” the Council continued.
