Black Meteors assistant coach, Godwin Attram, has expressed optimism ahead of Ghana’s U-23 AFCON final qualifier against Algeria today at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The first leg which was played in Annaba last Friday ended 1-1, thanks to Fatawu Issahaku’s long-range screamer.

Speaking to Gideon Okyere Anim “Gatusso ” on Original 91.9FM’s Super Sports Show, the former Black Stars player called on Ghanaians to support the team to overcome the opponent.

“We promise Ghanaians we will give our all today to qualify for the upcoming U23 AFCON tournament “.

“So far there are no injury concerns in camp, the entire team is fit”.

“We believe our hard work will pay off”.

“Ghanaians should pray for the Black Meteors and come to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium today in their numbers and support the team”

Both teams made the trip from Algeria to Ghana on Saturday and have been preparing for the return encounter.

The Black Meteors need a win to qualify for the U23 championship set to be hosted in Morocco. The tournament will serve as a qualification for next year’s summer Olympics in Paris.

The men’s U23 team has not been to the Olympic Games since Athens 2004 in Greece.
