Why female artistes don’t get investments – Delassie explains

An International Music Marketer has pointed out why investors rarely consider investing in the craft of female artistes.

Delassie opines women in music do not get investment deals because the feminine gender is expensive.

Appearing on Metro TV ‘s Entertainment Review on Wednesday 2nd August 2023, she stated that the issue of women not getting the support they need to thrive in the music industry unlike men is because investors are thrown off with all the baggage they “innocently carry” hence, there is no investment for women all around.

She argued that when an investor wants to sign a female act, they think of all the beauty needs that come with the artistes, and number of more workers they have to add to the company, and the revenues that have to go out to all these people when bring them on board.

All these things, Delassie explains, scare investors away making it seem like it’s only the men who get the deals.

Delassie shares a bit of her journey in her native town of New York, USA disclosing how she worked with an accomplished artiste that drove her right back to music, later saw her touring around America and Europe, and she finally returned back to Ghana full time as both of her parents are Ghanaians but she was born and raised in the Big Apple.
