The Awutu Beraku District Police Command is hunting for a 30 years old woman for slashing the throat of her co-tenant with a knife.

The two women had a misunderstanding some two months ago but the suspect on Thursday, July 27, 2023, caught the victim unaware and inflicted some knife wounds on her.

The two women involved are co-tenants residing at Awutu Breku in the Central Region.

According to the victim, Mariana Sulley, she had an earlier misunderstanding with another tenant who happens to be a friend to the suspect only identified as Philomena some two months ago.

The suspect decided to take revenge on behalf of her friend some two months ago prompting the intervention of police and the matter settled with strong admonishment to both parties by police.

However, the suspect who is currently on the run in any suspected fashion launched another life threatening attack on the victim on Thursday and slashed her throat with a knife.

The victim was rushed to the hospital and was discharged after receiving some treatments.

The case has been reported to the Awutu Breku Police who are searching for the victim for arrest and possible prosecution.

Mother of the victim, Victoria Amponsah has called on the police to treat the matter with the needed urgency.
