World Vision Ghana holds Agricultural Market Linkage Fair at the Binduri District

A vibrant agricultural value chain is critical for improving sustainable farming practices, household food security, and farmers’ income.

In the Benduri District of the Upper Upper East Region, farmers lack active agriculture value chain, affecting their productivity. This makes access to agricultural inputs and services difficult.

To address this, World Vision Ghana, through the Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration Plus Project funded by Knauer, has organised an Agricultural Market Linkage Fair for agricultural value chain stakeholders in the Binduri District.

The fair brought together about 350 smallholder farmers, agro-dealers, agriculture extension officers, tractor service providers to share experience and network.

Also present were farm produce aggregators, researchers, fire service personal and financial institutions.

Some of the exhibitors expressed gratitude to World vision Ghana for supporting farmers to improve productivity.

They also commended the organisation for organising agricultural market linkage fair to expose stakeholders in agriculture to critical service providers.

Poanab Atinbun Mumuni is the queen mother for the Kpalwega traditional area and groundnut processor thanked World Vision Ghana for providing support to women. She said, Savings for Transformation (S4T) facilitated by the organisation is enabling farmers to access financial services at their doorsteps.

She urged women to take advantage of the support in various sectors being implements by World Vision Ghana to build themselves for success. in their various communities.

World Vision Ghana has implemented several social interventions that were contributing to improving lives, livelihoods and income as well as food security of farmers in the district.

Other support includes water, sanitation, and hygiene, environmental restoration and livelihood and onvome generating activities aim to transform lives of the most vulnerable children and their families.

World Vision is a child-focused humanitarian and relief organisation whose focus on transforming the lives of the most vulnerable children.

The manager of farmer managed regeneration at World Vision, Akunyire Edward, mentioned that the essence of the program was to create a relationship between farmers to farmers and their partners.
