2023/24 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League launched

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially launched the 2023/24 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.

The launch in Accra saw major stakeholders in Women’s football coming together to deliberate on the upcoming season.

In her address on behalf of the Ghana Football Association, newly elected Women’s representative on the Executive Council, Dr. Gifty Oware Mensah opined the women’s game has seen massive facelift and development and assured that the GFA is ever ready to continue the efforts to uplift the women’s game.

She added that the GFA has made a conscious effort to train over 80 women in coaching, i.e.. Lincense D and C as well as educational seminars for administrators with support from development partners Betway.

The GFA has also secured sponsorship to supply free kits for referees, football equipment for the clubs, shopping vouchers, and other goodies.

Speaking on behalf of the Women’s Premier League Management committee, Deputy Chairperson, Rosalind Amoh admitted that the past season presented us with excitement, thrills and high performance.

She added that the committee is hoping we have a great season ahead where the notch will be raised higher with new records been set.

For her part, the Marketing Manager of Guinness Breweries Dinah Adu-Asare Darko also acknowledged the conscious effort by her organisation to create an enabling environment to unlock the potential of Women as far as Ghana football is concerned.
