In the midst of the controversy surrounding Parliament’s approval of President Akufo-Addo’s new ministerial appointment, Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has debunked claims that he voted for the nominees of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
According to the Member of Parliament for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam, it has come to his attention that a certain former NPP MP has allegedly intimated that he [Dr. Ato Forson] okayed the nominees for the Trade and Industry Ministry during the voting process in parliament.
In a statement on his social media handles, the minority leader stressed that such allegations are false and therefore called on the public to disregard the said claims. He added that the said claims are palpable falsehoods and only an attempt to damage his reputation.
He, therefore, demanded a retraction and apology from the former NPP MP who made the said claims. He insisted that the failure of the accuser to set things right will only mean that the former legislator has no shred of credibility and reputation left in him.
“This is to address a deeply concerning matter that has come to my attention. A video is currently circulating, in which a former NPP MP falsely accuses me by suggesting that he will be surprised to hear i voted against the ministerial nominee to the trade ministry. Let me be absolutely clear: these allegations are categorically false, and I urge everyone to disregard them,” portions of the Minority Leader’s Facebook post added.
