Editor-in-Chief of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr.,says Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), should be allowed to choose his running mate without external pressure.
“I will insist to the extent that if it is possible, Dr. Bawumia should be given some kind of a free hand to choose his running mate. If it doesn’t work, it will be upon his own head. If it works, perhaps Ghana will become the beneficiary,” Kwesi Pratt said on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana.
Kwesi Pratt believes that a running mate who Dr. Bawumia is comfortable with will help them work together effectively for the betterment of the country.
“He has to decide who he is comfortable with. He has to decide who he is likely to work with in a smooth administration and so on, otherwise we are likely to have some of these things we had in the past.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has already announced Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, as his running mate for the 2024 general elections to party officials, after informing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of his choice.
