Armed robbers steal GHS1 million in fuel station raid

A group of armed robbers has attacked a fuel station in the Amansie West district of the Ashanti Region, making off with a haul of around 1 million Ghana cedis.

The raid on IBM fuel station at Pakyi Number 2 occurred when the robbers broke into the office, disabling the CCTV system and seizing the digital video recorder.

According to eyewitnesses report, five fuel attendants and a security guard were tied up by the gang during the incident.

Kwabena Tawiah, Director of IBM fuel station, has called for increased police patrols in the area to prevent future incidents.

The police are yet to comment on the incident, but an investigation is underway.
