Ashaiman Municipality Celebrates Independence Day with Maiden Pre-school March Past

As the nation gears up for the 6th March Independence Day celebrations, the Ashaiman Municipality has taken a bold step to instill patriotism from a young age.

The Education Directorate of Ashaiman organized a historic maiden march past for all pre-schools in the municipality, marking a significant milestone in fostering national pride among the youth.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Education Directorate, received overwhelming support from both public and private pre-schools in the area.

The event saw enthusiastic participation as children showcased their marching skills adorned in various styles of the national colors, symbolizing unity and national identity.

Ernest Henry Norgbe, the Member of Parliament for Ashaiman, emphasized the critical importance of instilling a sense of patriotism in the younger generation.

He highlighted that nurturing patriotism from a young age is vital for securing the future of the nation. Norgbe commended the initiative, expressing his belief that it will imbibe in the children a deep sense of nationalism, essential for the progress of the nation.

“The only way to secure the future of our nation is by instilling patriotism in the hearts of our young ones,” remarked Norgbe. “Events like this maiden march past play a crucial role in shaping the values and principles of our future leaders.”


During the march past, the children delivered a heartfelt message through the Municipal Director of Education to President Nana Akuffo Addo, urging for a peaceful election and a smooth handing over of power.

The Municipal Director of Education of Ashaiman, Clifford Henaku Budu called on all stakeholders in education to join hands in instituting the event as an annual tradition.
