Ato Forson as Minority Leader an agenda to face NPP boot for boot in 2024 elections – Political Analyst

Political Analyst Jonathan Asante-Otchere has poured cold water on conceptions that the removal of Haruna Iddrisu as Minority Leader is due to his abysmal performance.

He also refutes theories it could be region, religious, and political based.

According to Mr. Asante-Octhere, the rationale behind the changes in NDC parliamentary leadership is more strategic orchestrated to ensure the umbrella party heads back to the Jubilee House.

“If you are not careful you’ll think that the removal of Haruna Iddrisu means he was not performing or probably, there are certain things that he was involved in that I won’t talk…. You will be in the whelm of speculation”

“I think specifically it makes a lot of difference because that is the agenda of the party,” the Political Analyst told Annie Afua Ampofo on Thursday, January 26.

Speaking on NewsBeat on Metro TV, Jonathan Asante-Otchere touted the economic abilities of the Oxford-trained economist and tax professional turned-politician saying he is often “one step ahead of the economic (financial) gurus in the NPP. You can look at issues that he has always been coming to the media to address, every now and then, you have the NPP come out denying but in the end it comes to past.”

He said the economy debate will be a decider in the next elections scheduled for December 7, 2024, and a personality like Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson can help the NDC chalk success.

“I realized that the economy will be the campaign agenda and you would need such a personality to hold the strap of the neck of the NPP machinery in terms of the finances and Dr, Bawumia. You can’t take out Ato Forson,” he argued.

Citing Ato Forson sounding the alarm on IMF bailout, Finance Minister misreporting data to Parliament, Ghana’s actual GDP rate,  Sinohydro deal, and haircut among other things to buttress his point, he who is also a lecturer at the University of Cape Coast stated that the Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam has in-depth knowledge to hold the governing New Patriotic Party into accountability.
