Avram Grant arrives in Ghana ahead of the 2023 All Star Festival in the Brong Ahafo Region

Zambia national team head coach, Avram Grant has arrived in Accra, Ghana ahead of the much cherished trip to Dormaa-Ahenkro for the 2023 All Star Festival in the Brong Ahafo region.

The experienced gaffer qualified the Chipolopolo’s of Zambia to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after lashing out the Elephants of La Cote D’Ivoire 3-0 at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola to end 8 years of absence at the showpiece.

The 68-year-old who has previously managed Premier League outfits Chelsea and West Ham United was seen in the company of Dr. Ernest Koranteng the Chief Executive of The Business Africa Consulting Group who welcomed him on his arrival.

The Israeli international has been assigned by The BAC Group to lead the All Star players from the technical dugout when they engage Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin’s B&A Stars in a friendly match at the Nana Agyemang Badu I, Park in Dormaa- Ahenkro to climax the 2023 All Star Festival on Thursday 22 June,2023.

” I really love Ghana, and as you can see l have a strong relationship with beautiful people here. Dr. Ernest Koranteng has done so much to ensure the people in that side of the country get to enjoy and feel the presence of their football stars.Honestly, I’m happy to be back and part of this unique history. l love the fact that, l will get to re-unite with my former players such Andre Ayew, Mubarak Wakaso, Jordan Ayew among others.” says Avram Grant.

” l will also use the opportunity to relax myself after qualifying the Chipolopolo of Zambia to upcoming AFCON. For now it’s all about the 2023 All Star Festival and that is my focus for now, thanks.” he added.

Avram also, led Chelsea to the UEFA Champions League final in 2008 and Ghana to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations final, ending both as runners-up. Grant’s most recent position was as technical director of the Indian Super League (ISL) club NorthEast United in 2018, where he was subsequently appointed head coach, succeeding Joao de Deus for the remainder of the 2017-18 season. Under him, the Highlanders won twice and finished the season at the bottom of the table.

Prior to joining ISL Club, Grant led Ghana to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Equatorial Guinea, and again to the semi-finals of the same tournament in 2017, when they were defeated by eventual winners Cameroon.
