AWCON 2024 Qualifiers: Black Queens got off to a sparkling start

The Black Queens of Ghana put seven goals past the She Amavubi’s of Rwanda in the first leg of the first round of the AWCON 2024 qualifiers.

Three first-half goals from Evelyn Badu,  Doris Boaduwaa, and Princella Adubea set the tone for a good outing at the Kigali Pele sports stadium.

A dominant game in both halves marked the exceptional display of Nora Hauptle’s side.

A masterclass performance in the second half saw former Hasaacas Ladies forward Evelyn Badu grab a second with Alice Kusi slotting home the fifth before Anasthesia Achiaa topped it all up with a brace.

The Black Queens will play Rwanda in a reversed fixture and wait for the winner between the Namibia and Gambia clash in the second round of qualifiers.

The Black Queens of Ghana missed out on the last edition and are hoping to return to the continental showpiece slated for Morocco at a later date in 2024.
