Man, 27, dies after he was butchered at Kasoa

The mortal remains of an electrician who was murdered at Kasoa New Market has been retrieved by police.

The victim was butchered and his eyes plucked out by his assailants who are yet to be known.

Identified as James, the 27-year-old electrical engineer’s dead body with multiple machete slashes was uncovered at the Kasoa New Market on Wednesday morning.

Both eyes of his had been plucked out from their sockets.

There were droplets of blood found a few meters away from where his body was dumped by his assailants causing nearby residents to suspect that he was butchered severely.

Eyewitnesses suspect that he was placed in a wheelbarrow and dumped within the New Market square.

Police with assistance from the Awutu Senya East NADMO were at the scene to convey the remains of James for preservation and onward investigations.

NADMO Zonal Coordinator for Kasoa Kpomotey Electoral Area, Christopher Appiah expressed shock about the development while urging police to investigate deeper and also enhance security.

Some residents of the area came close to arresting one of the key suspects who was spotted with blood stains in his shirt but he was able to outsmart them.

Later, the residents picked up another suspect who visited the scene and handed him over to police.

Nai Okohyeaman Oshimpo, an influential resident of the area wants police to be swift in dealing with criminal matters to serve as a deterrent to perpetrators.

He is also worried about crime-related happenings in the area and wants the police to beef up security.
