Bawku Naba bemoans CSO’s silence on national issues

The Bawku Naba and Overlord of the Kusaug Traditional Area, Zugraan Naaba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, has questioned the loud silence of the peace council and other Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in recent times.

The National Peace Council as well as other Civil Society Organizations have received backlash from a section of Ghanaians for their seeming silence on some issues in the country in recent times.

At a durbar of chiefs and people of Bawku, the Bawku Naba and Overlord of the Kusaug Traditional Area Zugraan Naaba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II shared same view.

In a speech read on his behalf, by his Secretary David Adoliba, the Bawku Naba bemoaned the losses made in Bawku through the conflict and wondered why a respected individual like the Nayiri decided to install a parallel chief knowing very well there’s an existing legal chief in the area.

Naba Asigri added that he was surprised by the loud silence of the Peace Council and other Civil Society Organizations in country when Bawku was burning on fire.

The Chiana Pio and President of the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs Pe Dituudini Adiana Ayagitam congratulated the Bawku Naba on his celebration and reiterated that the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs has always been with the Bawku Naba in finding lasting solution to the conflict.
