Cannabis legalization means goodbye to unemployment – Ras Mubarak

National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Kumbungu and unapologetic advocate for legal cannabis, Ras Muburak, says the passage of the NACOC Bill will boost the Ghanaian economy and wave goodbye to unemployment.

Parliament passed the Narcotics Control Commission Amendment Bill 2023, bringing significant changes to the cultivation of cannabis for industrial and medicinal purposes on Wednesday, July 12.

The amended bill grants the Ministry of Interior the authority to issue license for the cultivation of cannabis, thereby, enabling the utilization of this plant for various beneficial applications.

Speaking on Original TV’s Original Kasiebo on Thursday 13th July 2023, Ras Mubarak indicated that the bill if signed into law will boost the economy and help ease the current predicament, especially unemployment.

Ras Mubarak firmly indicated that the legislation of cannabis does not give one permission to smoke carelessly or for recreational purposes which is an offence and punishable by law.

He reiterated that the passage of the NACOC bill is for industrial and medicinal, explaining it will exploit the usage of the multipurpose drug.

Ras Mubarak added that cannabis legalization will create avenue for building companies that will help turn the raw products into useful products for the betterment of our lives.

The NACOC passage has sparked debate among Ghanaians of all walks of life.

Many have taken to social media to express varied oponions on the new bill passed by the legislative arm of government.
