Central Region NDC targets all 23 parliamentary seats

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region says it is targeting all 23 parliamentary seats in the region ahead of the 2024 elections, while also working to ensure that the party’s flagbearer John Dramani Mahama wins in all the constituencies.

Although it may sound too ambitious to achieve, members of the party say they are committed to the task and will do everything possible to achieve the target.

Currently, the party has 13 out of the 23 parliamentary seats in the region.

In the 2020 elections, the party managed to win the parliamentary seats in all swing constituencies.

Ahead of the 2024 elections, the party has launched a special project to protect those seats and has therefore began workshops for its ward coordinators and branch executives.

Part of the training focuses on how to sell the NDC’s message as well as teach voters how to cast ballots perfectly to prevent spoilt ballots.

Speaking to Metro News during a training session for branch executives of the party in the Gomoa East Constituency, former Central Regional Youth Organizer Eric Dadson said it will only take commitment and proactiveness to achieve the target.

On his part, Gomoa East MP Desmond De-Graft Paitoo believes he has performed better as MP than his rival Kojo Asemanyi and is assured of winning the 2024 elections even though the constituency is notably a swing.

Executives of the party say action is being taken to unite the base of the party and bring back all aggrieved members to rally together for victory.

Gomoa East NDC Organizer, Hamidu Hassan told Metro News that the party will continue to organize workshops for key members to be on top of issues to maximize the NDC’s chances.
