Colombia Ambassador calls on Speaker of Parliament

The Colombia Ambassador to Ghana his Excellency Daniel Garces Carabah has paid a courtesy call on the Rt Hon. Speaker Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin.

His Excellency Carabah indicated that he would build on the good works of his predecessor to strengthening the relations with Ghana to achieve the mutual benefit of both countries.

Although Ghana and Colombia established diplomatic on 23rd June 1988 its mission in Ghana was opened in 2023 and has since forged cooperation in the areas of Health, Peace and Security, socio-cultural, Education, and Economic sectors.

The Colombian Ambassador made these remarks when he paid a courtesy call to Mr. Speaker at his office in Parliament.

On his part, Mr. Speaker expressed delight at the visit and pledged to enhance Parliament’s relations between the two Nations.

In furtherance, Mr. Speaker has assured that,Parliament would inaugurate the Friendship Association. ” Last week it was raised on the floor, whatever numbers we have less inaugurate and move.” And the Colombia Parliamentary Friendship Association adding that it’s done as soon as possible before the general elections in next year 2024.

To assist Mr. Speaker in receiving the Colombia Ambassador is the ranking Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and MP for North Tong Hon. Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, Mr. Jonathan Magnus, Speaker’s advisor on Foreign Affairs, Hon. Mahama Shaibu former MP Daboya_ Mankarigu and some other Senior Members of Staff.
