Cynthia Morrison loses Agona West NPP parliamentary primary

Cynthia Morrison, the sitting member for Agona West, has lost the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary primary, which took place on Saturday, April 13.

She got 152, and Christopher Arthur, the parliamentary candidate, earned 240.

Ben Yamoah received 221 votes, Yawson Otoo obtained 168, and Joseph Afrankwa gained 155.

Following the election, supporters of Christopher Arthur were observed celebrating.

In the general elections of 2016, Cynthia Morrison emerged victorious. The Agona West constituency by-election of 2016 featured contests from two additional candidates: Evans Idan Coffie of the Convention People’s Party and Charles Obeng-Inkoom of the National Democratic Congress.
