There was a drama in the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Akroso Manso Asene Constituency after constituency executives returned a donation made by an aspiring parliamentary candidate.
During the limited registration exercise, former constituency patron and aspiring parliamentary candidate, Mr. Alex Owusu Agyei generously donated money through his Campaign Manager, Solomon Obeng Asante, to support the party bus eligible voters to the Election Commission’s district office.
The funds were delivered to the Constituency Treasurer, Mr. Albert Kwakye, on September 29, 2023.
However, things took a dramatic twist when Constituency Deputy Organizer Mr. Appia Agyei and Constituency Officer Mr. Biney forcibly returned the money to Mr. Solomon Obeng Asante, claiming it was directed by the Treasurer.
This unexpected act has left everyone wondering about the motives behind this decision.

The money, originally sent on September 29 at 4 pm, was returned on October 15, 2023, at 9:30 pm.
