Ghanaian midfielder Mahmud Abdul Karimu joins UAE outfit Al Taawon

Ghanaian midfielder Mahmud Abdul Karimu has joined United Arab Emirate outfit Al Taawon.

The young Ghanaian midfield enforcer joins the second-tier club after leaving FC Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai following the expiration of his contract in June.

The 20-year-old penned down a one-year contract with his new outfit and is expected to play a huge role in the club as they aim to qualify for the top flight for the first time in their history.

Mahmud Karimu’s playing time was limited at Shabab Al Ahli; after playing just once in the UAE Pro League for a total of five minutes, the hardworking midfielder joined Al Taawon in search of more playing time and regular first-team football.

He started his career with Ghanaian third-tier club DeGunners FC before a brief spell with fellow lower-tier club Inter Millas.
