Greed influenced Okatakyi Amenfi’s decision to dethrone Bebia Gyasehene — Abusuapayin

The Bisina Anona Abusuapayin of Bebia, a suburb of Abura Asebu in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) Constituency in the Central Region, Abusuapayin Kofi Oduankomah says the recent destoolment of the Gyasehene of Bebia, Nana Kwadwo Benyin XIII by the Paramount Chief of the Asebu Tractional Area, Okatakyi Dr. Amenfi VII was purely out of greed and sentiment but not on any salient reason.

It will be recall that on Friday, October 6, 2023, the Gyasehene of Bebia got dethroned by his Paramount Chief over insubordination, having subsequently been accused of crowning himself Chief of Agidam to enstool his own chiefs without the knowledge of the Asebu Paramountcy.

Abusuapayin Kofi Oduankomah speaking at a press briefing remarked that the Asebu Chief is unhappy with the chief and that the Bebia Gyasehene previously denied him access to a portion of the area’s stool lands.

He stressed that the Paramount Chief without reaching any sort of agreement with Nana Kwadwo Benyin, tried to claim ownership of some acres of the area’s lands which was vehemently denied by the Bebia Gyasehene, hence his destoolment. Having required of him to first consult the Gyasehene.

Meanwhile, the residents of Bebia has threatened to petition the presidency to intervene as their chief has committed no atrocity to be destooled by the Asebu Paramount Chief.
