I will reject a senior national team call up — Samuel Inkoom

Hearts of Oak right-back Samuel Inkoom says he will reject a call-up into the senior national team, Black Stars.

Speaking in an interview on Original 91.9 FM in Accra, the well-spoken defender explained he will not fancy being a part of the Black Stars anymore just to pave way for the young ones.

The 32-year-old who has made waves since returning to the Ghana Premier League believes he is still in fine form but will prefer the young players be integrated into the senior national team.

“I will reject a call up to the Black Stars because I want the young ones to be given a chance too,” Inkoom explained.

Samuel Inkoom received his first start for Ghana in the World Cup qualifier against Benin on 28 March, 2008 which Ghana won 1–0.

Between 2008 and 2014, he made 44 appearances scoring 1 goal for the Ghana national team. He has played in teams based in 9 different countries. Namely; Switzerland, Ukraine, France, Greece, United States of America, Portugal, Turkey, Bulgaria and latest in Georgia.
