I’ll always wish the Black Stars well whether I’m in the squad or otherwise — Abednego Tetteh

Bibiani Goldstars striker, Abednego Tetteh has backed the senior national team, Black Stars to deliver in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar.

The game will be played at Antananarivo on Sunday, June 18, 2023.

This comes after Abednego, who emerged top scorer in the just-ended Ghana Premier League season got snubbed by the national team’s head coach Chris Hughton during his call-ups.

Bechem United striker Hafiz Konkoni became the sole representative from the Ghana Premier League after earning a late call-up.

In an exclusive interview with Gideon Okyere Anim “Gatusso” , on Original 91.9FM’s Super Sports Show,  the former Hearts of Oak striker said, “I wish the Blackstars the very best ahead of their Madagascar clash.”

“Those that train hard are hard to beat, and I know they’re putting in an extraordinary amount of effort to make the nation proud,” he added.

Despite his rich vein of form, Tetteh was snubbed with a call-up ahead of the qualifiers.

The player, popularly known as “Zlatan” in the football circus found his form after joining Bibiani Goldstars in the second half of the 2022-23 Betpawa Premier League.

Abednego Tetteh emerged as the goal king, scoring 18 goals between King Faisal and Goldstars.
