Kamala Harris Has No Moral Right To Educate Ghana On LGBTQ & Human Rights – Sam George

Member of Parliament for Ningo -Prampram in the Greater Accra Region, Samuel Nartey George has heavily criticized the Vice President of the United States of America, Her Excellency Kamala Harris for pushing against the anti-LGBTQ bill currently laid before parliament.

The US Vice President in an encounter with Ghana’s President in the Jubilee House during her 3-day working visit to Ghana further advised the country to uphold the rights of the LGBTQ community in the country.

But reacting to the advice of Kamala Harris, the vociferous MP and one of the proponents of the anti-gay bill said the US Vice President has no justification to admonish Ghana on the issue of human rights.

The Ningo-Prampram lawmaker said Kamala Harris and her government’s record on human rights are too dented for her to be giving Ghana lectures on defending the rights of citizens.

“Kamala Harris is the last place or person to go for lectures on human rights. If you want to learn morality, you don’t go to a brothel. Kamala Harris and her government’s record on human rights is appalling, and it is not one that Ghanaians will want to learn from,” Sam George said in interview with Accra-based Citi TV.

He added that “for the president to run away from his own government’s position on the Bill is unbelievable and worrying but let me assure you that we are not going to be cowed by the undemocratic comments of the American Vice President. The American people should be coming to Ghana to learn a few things from our Parliament when it comes to issues of lawmaking because we will be in a good position to help them”.
