#KenMustGo: Special Prosecutor Concludes Probe Into Attempted Bribery Of Majority MPs

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has revealed that it has concluded the investigations launched into the allegations of an attempt by a certain businessman to bribe some Members of Parliament in the majority caucus.

According to reports, the unnamed wealthy businessman wanted to allegedly bribe some NPP MPs who were calling for either the dismissal or resignation of the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta.

The businessman, reports indicated wanted the MPs to abort their mission so that Ken Ofori-Atta could continue to stay in office.

The attempted bribe was revealed by Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affair, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.

Following the news, the Office of the Special Prosecutor announced that it has launched investigations into the allegations.

In its First half-year report to parliament, the OSP announced the conclusion of the investigation adding that it will in the coming days issue directives and further action.

“The Special Prosecutor will issue directives and further action on the matter in due course. The Office expresses its gratitude to the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament and his staff for their cooperation and assistance during the investigation,” parts of the report read.
