In a remarkable display of vigilance, the residents of Akyem Krodua have successfully apprehended a group of 15 individuals involved in stealing railway tracks in the Eastern Region.

The suspects are currently in the custody of the Asamankese Police, assisting in investigations.

Chief Berima Kwame Anim of Krodua expressed deep concern over the situation and called upon law enforcement authorities to ensure that all those involved in this criminal act face prosecution.

The defunct railway track in Its active days en route from Danso, Krodua, Akroso to Kumasi.

The Krodua Chief further urged the government to make an urgent decision regarding the future of railway transportation in the area.

Chief Anim emphasized the need for a concrete plan, as any decision to reconnect the railway lines would require additional investment.

He pointed out if the government decides not to reconnect defunct railway lines, the community should be informed so they can reclaim their lands.
