NDC North Tongu Constituency debunks false claims surrounding train crash incident

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the North Tongu Constituency has categorically denied claims that the culprit behind the recent train crash incident on the Tema-Mpakadan railway is a branch chairman or secretary of the party in the constituency.

According to a statement released by the party on Friday, April 19, 2024, the allegations made by known New Patriotic Party (NPP) propagandists and publicists are blatant falsehoods aimed at misleading the public.

The party has identified Elikem Sewordor, an NPP underling, as one of the individuals responsible for churning out vile and misleading details about the incident, including falsely identifying the culprit as “Mauli Tsekpor,” a supposed branch chairman of the NDC in the constituency.

“We have also noticed the unpardonable and inexcusable conduct of NPP underlings like Elikem Sewordor who first churned out vile and misleading details about one “Mauli Tsekpor” and proceeded to politicize it by indicating that he was a branch Chairman of the NDC in the constituency. For emphasis, the alleged person (even if he exists) does not hold any position within the 152 branches of the Constituency”

Additionally, the party has debunked a report by NEWSGH360 that the culprit, “Abel Dzidotor,” is a branch secretary of the NDC, stating that neither of these individuals holds any position within the 152 branches of the constituency.

The NDC in North Tongu has called on all well-meaning Ghanaians to treat such disparaging commentary with contempt and has urged the Ghana Police Service to swiftly act and arrest and investigate those responsible for churning out fake news for political expediency.

The party has also expressed surprise that instead of holding those responsible for the incident accountable, a trajectory of blame game and alleged sabotage has become the subject of discussion.

“It is utterly surprising that instead of asking the hard questions for the persons, agency, and ministry responsible for this international disgrace to own up and take full responsibility for not executing a perfect assignment, a trajectory of blame game and alleged sabotage has become the subject of discussion. 6. We therefore call on all well-meaning Ghanaians to treat such disparaging commentary with the uttermost contempt it deserves”

“We further call on the Ghana Police Service to swiftly act and arrest and investigate such nation wreckers who churn out fake news for political expediency,” the statement concluded.
