Celebrated Nollywood actor Mr. Ibu has reportedly died.

Known in real life as John Okafor, the famous actor died at the Evercare Hospital aged 62 years old on Saturday, March 2.

Mr Ibu had been battling illness, undergoing multiple surgeries and receiving ongoing medical care in his quest for recovery since last year.

He featured in several Nollywood movies including A Fool At 40, Police Recruit, Mr Ibu in London, Issakaba and a host of others.

Mr. Ibu became a fan-favourite and a household name due to his distinctive style and infectious humour.

News of his demise has birthed a flood of tributes on social media from colleague actors, relatives, and movie lovers in general.
