NPP hasn’t neglected Ashanti Region —Asenso Boakye

Mr. Francis Asenso Boakye, the Minister of Roads and Highways, has denied allegations that President Akufo-Addo’s administration has neglected the Ashanti Region’s road network.

In response to criticism leveled by the government’s opponents, the sector minister emphasized that, in contrast to rumors going around among the chiefs and local populace, the Ashanti Region has not been disregarded.

“We have not neglected the Ashanti Region,” he said firmly.

Mr. Asenso Boakye went on to explain that the region appears to have the most number of roads designated for building in the nation, which presents a difficulty for road provision.

Speaking during a visit to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace and later inspecting various road project sites in the region on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, the Minister assured the chiefs that road development initiatives in the region would be expedited to alleviate their concerns.

He underscored the government’s resolve to promptly attend to the Ashanti Region’s road infrastructure requirements, recognizing the importance of the Ashanti Region’s endorsement of the ruling New Patriotic Party, as demonstrated by the party’s continuous substantial electoral support.
