Performance Tracker: More than 13,000 projects have been approved as of now – Oppong Nkrumah

The recently created Performance Tracker is intended to provide accountability and transparency in the implementation of infrastructure projects across the nation, according to Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Minister of Works and Housing.

He continued by saying that the tracker will assist in resolving long-standing issues with project presentations’ dependability and correctness, particularly with regard to the usage of artists’ impressions to represent results.

During the tracker’s official launch on Wednesday, April 10, at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Oppong Nkrumah stated that the tracker presently houses more than 13,000 projects around the country.

The Ofoase-Ayirebi MP emphasized that the tracker is an improved version of the Delivery Tracker, which Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia first unveiled in 2020.

The minister went on to explain that the Performance Tracker includes a broad range of projects, such as service delivery and infrastructure efforts, that have been verified throughout all sixteen regions of the nation. He pointed out that as of June 2023, the most recent data on the site is available.

Oppong Nkrumah highlighted the continual efforts to update the Performance Tracker, with data contributions from multiple ministries and organizations stretching past the June 2023 deadline.

“As of June 2023, there are over 13, 000 projects across the 261 districts, across the 16 regions, across the 28 ministries that have been validated and updated on this platform.”

“The performance tracker is a database that showcases the performances of the government of Ghana and it is going to show you the various projects that have been executed across the country. This database has two interfaces; a website and an application. Today the mobile phone is very powerful too and sometimes even beyond what your desktop can do.

“It showcases the performances of Ghana across the 267 districts and the 28 ministries and the 16 regions,” he added.
