Potsin Accident: Good Samaritan returns GHC100K to bank

A Good Samaritan who chanced upon a one hundred thousand Ghana Cedis cash at an accident scene at Gomoa Potsin on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway has returned it to the Consolidated Bank of Ghana.

The accident occurred between a commercial Rhino Truck with registration number GW 5395-24 and a staff of the Consolidated Bank of Ghana who was riding a motorbike.

The rider who was heading the Winneba direction after receiving some cash deposits from clients of the bank was hit by the truck which was joining the main Kasoa-Winneba Highway from the Telenergy filling station at Gomoa Potsin junction.

As a result, the motor rider had his left leg ran over by the Rhino Truck and got the lower bones completely broken and his right leg ruptured.

The survivor, 32-year-old Enoch Ofosu was initially rushed to the Potsin Polyclinic for an initial treatment and later transferred to Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for further bone treatment.

However, an eyewitnesses to the accident, Samuel Annan Dadzie, who also helped convey the victim to the hospital even though was first to arrived at the scene exercised good virtue by keeping safe a backpack that belonged to the victim and later handed it over to management of the Potsin Polyclinic.

The backpack which contained a total of GHC 110,000.00 covering customers’ deposits was later handed over to management of the bank.

Speaking to Metro News, Dadzie said he was moved to turn in the cash by virtue of good morals and is advocating for others to replicate same and avoid stealing from accident victims.
