Practice more penalty shoots – Yussif Basigi advises Medeama SC

Head Coach of Hasaacas Ladies, Yussif Basigi has advised Medeama SC to scale up their preparations and most importantly be well vested in spot kicks ahead of their CAF Champions League return fixture.

Medeama SC last Sunday beat Remo Stars of Nigeria narrowly in the first leg of the preliminary round of the 2023/2024 Champions League and are billed for the return fixture next week.

Speaking with Metro Sports after the game in Cape Coast, the learned manager attested to the fact that he witnessed a fairly good game but will advise the Mauve and Yellow to work harder when they travel to Nigeria.

He further explained that the 1-0 win at home now throws Medeama SC into a state of qualification at all costs and not only to win in the return fixture.

Basigi then added that the team would have to practice more set pieces especially penalty shoots just so they are not found wanting if the game travels to that length.

“Medeama won but the margin is not encouraging.  Inexperience also played a part but in all we witnessed a good game”.

“I know Coach Adotey would heighten their preparations but I will advise them to practice their penalty shoots very well before they travel to Nigeria,” Basigi said.

Medeama SC marked their maiden appearance in the CAF Champions League with a goal scored by striker, Jonathan Sowah in the 22nd minute against Remo Stars of Nigeria.
