The Ministry of Education has refuted reports which suggest there is a food shortage in some Senior High Schools (SHS) in the country.
This comes after some heads of schools in the Volta Region warn of a possible closure of schools following the unavailability of food items to cater for the student population.
However, the Education Ministry has shut down such reports dominating media headlines describing them as untrue.
According to a statement available to Metrotvonline.com, “all Senior High Schools in the country have received adequate supply of food items”.
The Education Ministry said “it noted with surprise the news publications and media discussions” of such because it lacks positive accuracy.
“The Ministry wishes to ensure the public of its commitment and willingness in providing quality and timely supply of food to all Senior High Schools,” the statement added.
