Walewale: Nurse Killed By Unknown Assailants

Salifu Abdulai, a 33-year-old nurse working at the Walewale Government Hospital in the North East Region’s West Mamprusi municipality, was assassinated by people who were allegedly smokers.

On Sunday at Walewale Moshifong, the nurse got into a fight with the smokers and assaulted him, causing head injuries.

Eyewitnesses claim that they placed the victim’s lifeless body close to the Walewale graveyard. The man was later transported to the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH), but was confirmed dead when he arrived.

Abdulai was relocated to Moshifong just this month after being transferred from the Northern Region’s Savelugu Hospital to the Walewale Government Hospital in 2022.

The neighborhood of Moshifong in Walewale is well known for social vices including “wee” smoking and drug misuse by young people inside the cemetery’s grounds.
