2023 BECE: Tamale Metropolitan Education Director urges candidates to avoid examination malpractices

The Tamale Metropolitan Director of the Ghana Education Service, Nelson Kunland, has called on students sitting for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in Tamale and beyond to desist from any action that will mare the beauty of their upcoming exams.

He was speaking at a ceremony organized by the Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed to distribute exam materials and feeding money for candidates in his constituency.

Candidates across the nation are set to start the 2023 BECE on Monday, 7th of August 2023.

Within the Tamale metropolitan area, 6,036 candidates have been registered to take part in the upcoming examination, of which, an extra classes was organized by the Tamale Central MP Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed to prepare them adequately for the task.

To mark the successful end of the extra classes, examination materials like mathematical sets, pens, and feeding money were given to students by the Tamale Central MP to help them write the examination successfully.

Speaking to students at the event ground, Tamale Metropolitan Director of Education, Nelson Kunland urged the candidates to follow all the laid down rules by the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) emphasizing that, no student will be intimidated by the supervisors during the examination processes.

On his part, member of Parliament for Tamale Central constituency, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed said the performance of BECE candidates in his constituency since the inception of the extra classes has increased tremendously, calling the candidates not to send any foreign material to the examination halls.
