Egypt captain Mohammed Salah is confident Egypt will lift this year’s AFCON trophy at the end of the tournament.

According to the Liverpool forward, the Egyptian national team is very well motivated to win the tournament.

“We are always proud to wear the Egyptian jersey and also very well motivated to win the tournament, ” he said.

He added that despite the team not having a good start in the tournament they will work hard to get back to the top.

“At the moment we are not doing well but with hard work everything is possible, For now we just need to qualify and go from there”. He averred

The seven-times winners of the AFCON are eager to lift it once again for the first time since 2010.

Egypt face high-flying Cape Verde at the Stade Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium on Monday.
