Aisha Huang fakes amnesia to ‘evade’ cross-examination

Chinese national Aisha Huang faked amnesia during her appearance in court on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, to avoid cross-examination.

The Galamsey Queen is facing several criminal charges in Ghana.

During her cross-examination on Tuesday, Aisha Huang’s response to every question put to her by the first prosecutor was always in the negative and she was in a posture that raises questions.

“I can’t remember,” she always stated.

Aisha Wan and her cohorts have been in the grip of Ghanaian Law for the last eight months after she was re-arrested by the Ghana Immigration for illegal re-entry of the country after being deported to China to face trial.

Aisha Huang’s reappearance in the high court was to stand questioning for the two passports that were in her custody and her claim of renewal of passport and the two engineers brought into the country to work on her excavators.

Earlier in court, the Galamsey Queen burst into tears during her criminal case proceeding.

Aisha amidst tears noted that she does not fathom why she has been linked to illegal mining in the country. She described the allegation as “lies”.

Her defence team, most especially her translator, tried to console her. However, the presiding judge, Justice Lydia Osei Marfo noted that crying is not allowed in the courtroom and she, in particular, does not appreciate a witness crying instead of stating her answers.
