Akufo-Addo is using God’s name to steal — Sammy Gyamfi

The National Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi is enraged at the government’s continuous use of taxpayer’s money for the National Cathedral Project.

He describes the project as a “useless so-called national cathedral which is of no benefit to the suffer masses of this country.”

“You have stolen money and are now doing it in the name of God. You are breaching public procurement laws, financial management acts, throwing taxpayer’s money away just like that,” he added.

Addressing the topic of the current inflations, the NDC National Communication Officer mentioned that the government in their spending has “wasted over fifty – eight million dollars on the project and still intends to spend eighty-three million this year” on what Sammy Gyamfi calls “the biggest pit in the world”

“Even the men of God you deceived to join the project, today, are resigning. Venerable leader of Lighthouse, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, Pastor Eastwood Anaba, Revered Archbishop Duncan Williams have all seen how this project stinks with corruption, how people are stealing in the name of God and violating the laws of this country in the name of God under the Guise of building a house for God,” Sammy Gyamfi disclosed.

The National Cathedral of Ghana is an ongoing interdenominational Christian cathedral being constructed in Ghana’s capital city, Accra.

The design for this cathedral was unveiled by the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, in March 2018.

Despite these plans, the project has faced opposition from a considerable portion of Ghanaians, who are not supportive of its development.
