Alan going independent will go nowhere – Richard Achigbah

The Communications Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Richard Ahiagbah, says Alan Kyerematen, who has exited the party to run for the presidency as an independent candidate, will affect the party’s bid to break the eight.

According to Mr. Ahiagbah, all efforts by the former NPP presidential candidate hopeful to become Ghana’s next president will prove abortive.

Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, a former leading and founding member of the New Patriotic Party announced his resignation from the party to contest as an independent candidate in an address on Monday, September 25, 2023.

Speaking on News Night on Metro TV, Richard Ahiagbah rejected assertions that Alan’s resignation will block the NPP’s chances of making ‘breaking the eight’ agenda a reality.

“The NPP remains resolute, focused, and poised for victory in 2024,” he stated.

“This is not the first time anybody will try this, other political parties people have tried that. Your conclusion will be my conclusion that it won’t go nowhere.”

“It is often the end-of-the-road romantic idea for anyone to want to go independent in any political party, especially the New Patriotic Party. It is the end-of-the-road romantic idea for our former member,” Mr. Ahiagbah.
