Busted fake doctor wasn’t attending to patients – Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital

The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital has refuted claims making rounds in the media that the busted quack doctor was administering treatment to patients.

The hospital says it is nearly impossible for a doctor who is not a staff to attend to patients.

Speaking on Metro TV’s News Night on Monday, September 4, the Public Relations Officers at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kwame Frinpong explained that the hospital runs a team-based system and that patients are assigned to teams and not individual doctors.

We run a team-based system where all the team members are known to each other. Remember we are a teaching institution so most of the people we employ are virtually our own product. So before you even join the hospital we will have known you, and most teams are made up of trainees and their former students,” he told Bridget Otoo.

“Patients are allocated to teams, not individuals,” Mr. Frimpong stressed.

He further intimated another robust system the hospital adapts to keep its information and patients safe from malicious attacks.

“Again, we run an electronic medical record system where every clinical or medical personnel has a unique password. If you don’t have the password you cannot even enter the system to look after patients and prescribe medicines for these medicines to be despaired to patients,” he said.

According to him, since Mr. Cohen was not seen in a ward there is no evidence whatsoever that he approached any patient to help or extort money from them.
