CETAG calls off strike

The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has suspended its strike.

This brings an end to an over-a-month strike in demand of better conditions of service.

The academic calendar of colleges of education across the country was deeply after by the strike..

The decision to halt the strike action follows a vote by its members in which the majority voted to call off the strike action.

“On the basis of the voting outcome above, the strike is suspended/call-off based on a majority decision with effect from Tuesday, 5th September 2023. CETAG shall advise itself if by 31st of October, 2023 all the Arbitral Awards have not been implemented by the Employer/Ministry of Education,” the Association said in a statement.

The Association has also communicated that all its members are expected to resume work by no later than Thursday, September 7, 2023.
