By questioning Cecilia Dapaah’s source of wealth we’re being the citizens Akufo-Addo wants – – Magoo

NDC Communication Team Member, Margaret Ansei has defended her party’s approach towards Cecilia Dapaah’s controversy and probe into her source of wealth.

Margaret Ansei, who is widely referred to as Magoo, on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on July 24 highlighted her concerns regarding the main opposition party’s handling of the sensitive issue.

“We as the citizens are the complainants now because the president [Nana Akufo-Addo] urged us to be citizens and not spectators and we want the right authority to question where the money is coming from,” she asserted.

“As a Minister of State, how much do you earn at the end of the month?” Magoo quizzed.

Margaret Ansei said during the John Mahama regime the then opposition NPP lambasted Victoria Hamah, a former Deputy Communications Minister who was caught on tape plotting to quit politics when she makes a million dollar.

She noted that the harsh criticisms forced the Mahama government to sack Ms Hammond.

Yet, “someone has that one million dollar and is still in politics”, Magoo jabbed.

The NDC Communicator believes the opposition’s handling of the matter is in the best interest of the public.

Cecilia Dapaah, the Former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, has been under scrutiny over the origins of her wealth, prompting heated discussions and debates across the political landscape.

Madam Cecilia Dapaah and her husband, Daniel Osei Kuffour, have sued two of their former house helps at the Accra Circuit Court for allegedly stealing monies and items worth millions of cedis from the couple’s residence at Abelemkpe in Accra.

The accused individuals, 18-year-old Patience Botwe and 30-year-old Sarah Agyei, have been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and five counts of stealing.

The alleged thefts occurred between July and October 2022.
