Three persons have died as a result of an accident involving two motorbikes at Fobinso in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality of the Central Region.
Two of the victims died at the spot while the other died at the Ayanfuri Pentecost Hospital where he was receiving treatment.
According to eyewitnesses, the two motorbikes engaged in a head-on collision on the Fobinso-Ayanfuri road as a result of heavy dust which blurred the vision of the riders.
Although some passersby responded timely to offer assistance to the victims, two were already found dead at the spot as none of them wore a crash helmet.
Residents say it was not the first time a motorbike accident occurred on the stretch and are demanding for the road to be fixed.
Calls are being made for the regulation of motorbike usage in the enclave as most riders speed excessively placing themselves and pedestrians in danger.
Meanwhile, two other persons have also died while about 12 passengers have sustained various degree of injuries in an accident involving a sprinter mini bus and a cargo bus on the Dunkwa-on-Offin-Obuasi road.
The cargo vehicle in an attempt to swerve a pothole collided with the sprinter bus loaded with passengers and heading towards the Dunkwaw direction.
On the same stretch, driver of a long vehicle and his mate who also involved in an accident on Thursday are receiving treatment at the hospital.
Road users are demanding for an immediate rehabilitation of the road as they blame the numerous potholes on the stretch for the rampant accidents.
