Court restrains NDC from swearing in Opare Addo as Youth Organiser

The Amasaman High Court has restricted the elected National Youth Organiser of the NDC, George Opare Addo from carrying himself as such.

The court also ordered the National Democratic Congress leadership should not recognise Opare Addo as the National Youth Organiser or proceed to swear him

This is following an injunction application granted by the court on Friday.

Ernest Yaw Brogya Genfi, the NDC’s lost National Youth Organiser aspirant, and two other plaintiffs filed

According to the Court, the 10-day injunction was issued after reading the plaintiff’s affidavit and hearing to his lawyer, Kojo Abban.

Brogya Genfi through his lawyers prayed the Court to among others, restrain, “the 5th defendant (George Opare Addo), from presenting himself to be acknowledged and or sworn in by the 1st defendant and or its officers, as the duly elected National Youth Organiser of the 1st Defendant for a period not exceeding 10 days from the date of the order upon the grounds contained in the supporting affidavit.”

This development comes on the eve of the NDC’s National Delegates Congress at the Accra Sports Stadium.
