Govt recklessly wastes taxpayers’ money and blames citizens for betting – Edudzi Tamakloe

The Head of the Legal Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Lawyer Edwin Edudzi Tamakloe, has accused the government of wasting the resources of the country with less regard for the sweat of taxpayers.

According to him, the current administration has received more taxes and revenues than all previous governments put together, and yet there is absolutely nothing to show for it.

He was speaking in an interview with Metro News on the sideline of the Western Regional Youth Conference of NDC organized over the weekend.

Taxation is an integral part of revenue mobilization in government.  It is an important component of development, therefore making it legally binding on individuals, corporate institutions, and organizations.

Tax is received by governments all over the world not just for paying for public goods and services, but also as a key ingredient in the social contract between citizens and the economy.

How taxes are raised and spent can determine a government’s legitimacy.

Unfortunately, the head of the NDC legal team, Edudzi Tamakloe says in Ghana,  the administration of President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has made the payment of tax useless

On his part, Deputy National Organizer of NDC, Ellikem Kotoko appealed to Ghanaian electorates to consider the hardship in the country orchestrated by poor leadership and make sure they vote massively for the main opposition NDC as an alternative political party to wrestle power and rewrite the narrative

The National Organizer of the party, Dr. Joseph Yamin charged the youth in the country to take the 2024 general elections as an important exercise since their future hinges on the outcome of the 2024 polls.
