The Bawku Naba and overlord of the Kusaug traditional area Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka ll has stated that he is confident the Vice President of Ghana, Dr Alhaji Mahmudu Bawumia can play a pivotal role in bringing back peace to the troubled Bawku area.

Bawku Naba made the statement in a speech read on his behalf during a visit to him by the Vice President and his entourage.

The Zugraan were delighted by the visit and indicated that Kusasis, and Mamprusis have one common language and that having Bawumia in political leadership would help bring peace and development to their areas.

The Vice President also stated that he is going to uphold the 1992 Constitution as well as the Supreme Court ruling to bring finality to the Matter.

The Bawku area has had a bitter environment since the conflict broke out in 2021. The chieftaincy dispute between Kusasis and Mamprusis led to an unending battle that has led to the loss of many lives.

The Bawku Naba believes the Vice President can bring a peaceful resolution to the matter even though he has a similar background to one of the factions.
